Many of STANLEY’s Intensive Care Unit Doors come with the option to add Positive Latch and Smoke and Draft Seals to meet smoke and draft requirements (leakage rated under ANSI/UL1784 and labeled as a smoke barrier.)

Smoke and Draft rated doors have two main benefits:

  1. Allow hospital personnel protect patients in ICU environments until fire and smoke is contained verses dangerously transporting critical patients connected to equipment in the event of a fire.
  2. Allow architects greater flexibility in designing ICU areas where certain patient-to-nurse ratios could be an issue with a fire marshal.

NFPA 105 is a standard for installation of smoke door assemblies and other devices and is tested in accordance with air leakage requirements.

UL 1784 (Air Leakage Test of Door Assemblies) was developed for areas of health care facilities where smoke infiltration is a concern. It consists of testing at ambient and high temperature (400º F) and ensuring leakage rate does not exceeding 3 ft3/minute/sqft.

The Dura-Care 7300-TLFBO Provides 44” clear door opening with an 8’ wide frame. When the panels are slid to full open and a larger opening width is needed, a flush bolt on the sliding panel can be easily disengaged to allow both panels to swing open. The trackless design provides smooth transportation of patients and equipment. Ideal for applications in which SX panel break out at any point is not desired.

DURA-CARE 7500: THREE-PANEL TELESCOPING MANUAL DOOR  SYSTEM
The Dura-Care 7500 is our telescopic ICU/CCU package and is ideal for applications where space is limited.  The track version (7500) is designed with a bottom track that allows all three panels to slide and swing (breakout) at any point in travel. Panels are synchronized so the faster-moving outer panel and slower inner panel reach the jamb at the same time. Also available in a trackless (7500TL) design and a trackless full breakout (TL-FBO) design which offers swing capabilities (breakout) of the sliding SX panel at any point in slide motion.
